In 2014, Russia seized the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in one of the most brazen annexations of territory since World War II. Aside from economic sanctions, that land grab has largely been forgotten by the international community. More than four years on, Russia's grip on Crimea seems stronger than ever.
